Maria works as a senior lecturer at Kingston and St Georges University of London.

Maria is a qualified social worker with 20 years’ experience working in a range of settings which include acute hospitals, neuro rehab and learning disability. Maria holds the Practice Teacher Award, the Advanced Award in Social Work, is a qualified Best Interest Assessor (BIA). She is also currently undertaking her professional doctorate with her thesis exploring social workers’ experiences of working with self-neglect.
