Lisa Saldanha trained and worked as an NHS doctor for 6 years. During this time, she gained experience across several clinical specialties including accident & emergency, general practice, psychiatry, palliative care, obstetrics and gynaecology, general medicine, and general surgery.
Later in her career, Lisa transitioned to working in medical education with a specialist interest in communication skills curriculum development and assessment. She worked for 4 years as a lecturer on the Physician Associate programme at St George’s, University of London. During this time, she became the lead for communication skills, professional development, and reflective practice. Lisa holds a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Healthcare and Biomedical Education and has presented her work at numerous national and international educational conferences.
In 2023, Lisa co-founded Cue+Empathy, a business aimed to help aspiring medical students develop foundations in effective communication and confidence with medical school interviews.
With her passion for medical writing, communication skills training and creative spark, Lisa enjoys creating courses dedicated to helping healthcare professionals understand complex topics in medical history taking and advanced communication.
Lisa currently works as a communication skills facilitator at Difficult Conversations plus at 2 London based medical schools. She also works in the private sector delivering communication skills training to healthcare professionals.
